Selection and Taxation
Upon Approval:
All whitelist gangs/organizations shall be responsible for fronting a one-time fee (in game, not IRL) for the purchase of their initial property. An additional fee will apply for any business in addition. This fee will be calculated on an individual basis and will be communicated via the staff team to the whitelist leadership before both parties agree to commence. Upon commencement, the fee must be paid in full before any property and/or business will be transferred.
Taxation:
Additionally, gangs/organizations engaging in legal business activities within the server shall be subject to an ongoing taxation rate on their legal business income. This taxation rate is designed to simulate the economic realities of running a business within the server's virtual economy and contributes to the overall sustainability and development of the roleplay ecosystem.
All businesses must keep accurate books in the form of spreadsheets or other methods that the Government can access that will easily allow them to calculate tax payable. The taxable rate begins at 5% and is scalable depending on income. The tax is payable on all business profits.
Tax payments will be collected via government officers on the first day of each month. Failure to lodge your business income and pay on time will result in a penalty of $15,000. Should the tax remain unpaid, the balance will increase by 5% each day. Should the tax remain unpaid for 2 or more months, the Taxation Office will apply to the court to have all assets seized, effectively shutting down the business.
Businesses that fail to keep books will be fined. Fines range between $40,000 and $500,000 depending on the seriousness of the offending.
Periodic tax audits will be conducted on all businesses. Should a discrepancy arise, the owner(s) of the business will be called in for questioning. Should the Tax Office see fit, charges may be laid and may result in penalties such as fines, asset seizures and jail time.
